European Hydrogen Week 2023, 20-24 November 2023

The European Hydrogen Week, aiming to bring the entire hydrogen sector in one place for a whole week, took place from 20-24 November 2023 in Brussels. GreenH2CY team had the opportunity to interact with various experts and to discuss policy, technology, and market. A meeting with Hydrogen Europe also took place to discuss on the status of GreenH2CY project.
Stakeholders from the whole hydrogen value chain were there for four days of high-level conferences, B2B forums, panels discussions, and networking. Exhibitors populated the exhibition floor presenting their hydrogen-related products, solutions, and projects. Participants had a unique opportunity to see the latest advancements in electrolyser and fuel cell technology.
Key announcements during the European Hydrogen Week co-organised by the European Commission, Hydrogen Europe, and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership were the following:
- On 23rd of November, the European Commission launched the pilot auction of the European Hydrogen Bank, amounting to 800 million Euros. Durin the Hydrogen Week, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced the second auction in spring 2024 with a budget of 2.2 billion Euros.
- The commitment of European Union to achieve ambitious hydrogen goals was reaffirmed. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen promised to assess the National Hydrogen Strategies of Member States and their implementation.
This year’s edition of the European Hydrogen Week has come to an end, by efforts to enable the hydrogen economy must continue.
